Missions 4 Kidz overview

3 yrs old thru 6th grade

During Morning Worship Celebration kids will have opportunities to learn about, pray for and give to Missionaries all over the world through a program called BGMC or Boys and Girls Missionary Challenge.

Kids are given a little plastic barrel to save their money in and are reminded to bring them back the 1st sunday of each month.The plastic barrels are reminiscent of the old wooden shipping barrels that boys and girls filled with supplies for missionaries back in the 1940's.

For 2009 we raised $407.67. For 2010 we are shooting for over $600!

 

Doing whatever it takes to reach kids for Jesus!

Pastor Harvey challenged the WaveMaker Kids to raise $100 by March 14 and he would shave off his goatee and sideburns, but he also said,  “If you raise $150, I’ll shave off my mustache too!” (Pastor Harvey is quite fond of his mustache that he has been sporting since 9th grade (except for the 8 weeks of army basic training).  Since the WaveMaker Kids raised $150 (in fact more), he shaved it off at the end of church on March 14th -- and sprayed his hair green!

    

 What is BGMC

 
BGMC is the missions education emphasis for children in the Assemblies of God. It provides resources to help teach kids about missions. It supports our missionaries in their fields of ministry in America and around the world.

Did you know? Among the Assemblies of God Missionaries, 85% were called to be missionaries while they were between the ages of 9 and 13!
